Rahab – A Willing Woman
(Isaiah 40:29-31 (NLT)
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those that trust in the Lord will find new strength.” – (Isaiah 40:29-31 (NLT)
The story of Rahab clearly reveals God’s willingness to use the less-than-perfect, the outcast, what we might see as unsuitable to accomplish His holy purposes.
We see throughout Scripture how God chose a stutterer to speak for Him (Moses), an infertile woman to be the mother of a nation (Sarah), a forgettable youngest son to be the most unforgettable king of His people (David), an unknown young lady to be the mother of His Son (Mary) and a persecutor to take the Gospel to the nations (Paul).
Our God doesn’t wait for us to become spotlessly clean or mature in our faith to use us. Instead, He takes ordinary, willing people and accomplishes the extraordinary in and through their lives. As He did with Rahab, He promises to use us and, through that experience, to perfect us. Are you willing to be used? Avail yourself to the Lord today, my sisters. Life in eternity awaits.
